Benjamin Netanyahu Released From Hospital After Hernia Surgery
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was discharged from the hospital on Sunday after undergoing successful surgery to repair a hernia.
The 73-year-old leader was admitted to Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Medical Center on Friday afternoon and had the operation on Saturday.
Netanyahu's office said in a statement that the surgery was "successful and without complications." The prime minister is now recovering at home and is expected to return to work on Monday.
Netanyahu's hospitalization came just days before he was scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington. The meeting has now been postponed.
Netanyahu is the longest-serving prime minister in Israeli history. He has been in office since 2009, and is currently leading a coalition government.
